Laser Craft – Beginner – Learn at Home in Your Own Time

With high quality materials and really clear instructions anyone can produce beautiful pieces of art and craft. Each kit provides all the materials you will need, step by step instructions and examples of possible finished pieces.

The kit and tutorials cover the equivalent of a one day course with the added bonus that you can do it from the comfort of your own home. You will learn to design your own laserable pieces, explore a variety of material settings, and design work in 2D, relief and 3D. You don’t need any prior knowledge or experience as I will take you through every step. The absolute joy of lasering is that you can create quality, precision work from just an idea. The laser cutter does all the hard work for you!

The workshop involves learning to:
– Use drawing software (CAD) to create designs.
– Set up and send jobs to the laser.
– Experiment with different materials and thicknesses that can be lasered.
– Use the settings to get the style and finish that you choose in a wide variety of materials.

I teach these courses using a CO2 laser and Adobe Illustrator software. The skills are transferable for other lasers and software however is it worth noting that I do not use Light Burn.

All courses, workshops and kits come with free support. I love to see what my students and fellow crafters are up to and really enjoy answering questions or helping if I can. So any booking isnt just for the day its the start of a crafting friendship!

What’s included in the price?

Calipers, materials (woods, acrylic, slate, fabric and more), findings, templates for my most popular shapes (2D & 3D), masking tape, materials database/settings.

What you will need

You will need access to Adobe Illustrator (there is a free trial available on the Adobe website) or LightBurn (again there is a 30 day free trial) to use as your laser design software. Having your own laser is ideal but if you don’t and you would like to try lasering, please message me via the ‘message the button’ tutor, and we can arrange for some of your designs to be lasered by me once you have completed the tutorials.
