Description Amaco’s High Fire Glazes
HF-56 Red Gloss
1 Pint
Red Gloss is a deep, glossy scarlet glaze that produces intense color and attractive high-fire effects at mid range temperatures. Several artists have experimented with the High Fire glazes in wood, soda, and salt at temperatures up to cone 12, which yielded great results! Make sure you always test when exploring alternative firings for any of AMACO’s glazes.
The High Fire Cone 5 glaze series combines your favorites from the legacy Sahara and Celebration glaze lines. High Fire glazes produce interesting effects in both oxidation and reduction and should be brush-applied to bisque ware fired to Cone 04 for the best results.
