Paragon’s Xpress-E-9AX is a small, front-loading kiln that quickly fires up to 2000F on a common 120 volt wall outlet, making it an excellent choice for the busy artist working out of a home studio. Create breathtaking jewelry or small keepsakes using almost any medium you can imagine in this versatile piece of equipment – with the Xpress-E-9AX, you can do enameling, china painting, glass, lost wax casting, and low-fire ceramics. Imagine the glass you could sag, slump, and fuse with this kiln. Make bowls, platters, pendants, earrings, cufflinks, and even bracelets. Enjoy the glittering beauty of dichroics. This kiln will give you years of creative enjoyment. Since the kiln opens from the front instead of the top, it is ideal for copper enameling.
With its easy-to-program Sentinel Touchscreen controller, this fully-digital kiln is capable of firing in two modes: Single Speed, and Ramp-Hold. The controller is mounted in the kiln’s base to save table space. The front control panel is tilted for easy operation. The Xpress-E-9A heating element, exposed in dropped, recessed insulating firebrick grooves, is easy to replace. The firebricks store plenty of heat for slow cooling through the glass annealing range. For small glass pieces such as jewelry, you can anneal without having to turn the elements back on during cooling. Unlatch and open the door with one hand. No extra stand is needed; the built-in base stays cool during operation.
Options for customization:
Every Paragon Kiln offers multiple options, making each kiln unique to the customer’s preferences. The Xpress-E-9A comes with several options for customization. You can add a door safety switch, which ensures that the kiln’s electricity automatically shuts off when the door is opened. This is a great feature for kilns that are going to be installed in classrooms. If you work with glass, you may elect to add a 1″ x 3″ glass viewing window, which allows you to observe each step of the glass fusing and slumping process. You can choose to include the suggested Xpress-E-9A furniture kit, which includes one 7″ x 7″ square shelf, four 0.5″ posts, and a 1-lb. bag of kiln wash. Additionally, if you prefer the ultimate programming control that comes with a 12-key controller, you can upgrade the Xpress-E-9A to include that instead of the Sentry 3-key.
