The Xpress-E-14A is a small, front-loading kiln that quickly fires up to 2000F (cone 03), making it an excellent choice for the busy artist. Create breathtaking jewelry or small keepsakes using almost any medium you can imagine in this versatile piece of equipment – with the Xpress-E-14A, you can do enameling, china painting, glass, lost wax casting, and low-fire ceramics. Imagine the glass you could sag, slump, and fuse with this kiln. Make bowls, platters, pendants, earrings, cufflinks, and even bracelets. Enjoy the glittering beauty of dichroics. This kiln will give you years of creative enjoyment. Since the kiln opens from the front instead of the top, it is ideal for copper enameling. The Xpress-E-14A comes standard with Paragon’s touchscreen Sentinel controller, and is available in either 208V or 240V. This controller is packed with features. It includes two modes: Single Speed and 8-segment Ramp-Hold. With just three simple keys, you will be amazed at how much control you have over this kiln. This kiln controller is mounted onto the kiln’s base, as opposed to being mounted on a side switch box, to save table space in your studio or classroom.
Options for customization:
Options include a door safety switch, bead door, or window additions. A door safety switch ensures that the kiln’s electricity automatically shuts off when the door is opened, and is a great feature for kilns that are going to be installed in classrooms. If you work with glass, you may elect to add a 2″ x 2″ glass viewing window, which allows you to observe each step of the glass fusing and slumping process. If you plan on using the kiln for bead work, the addition of a bead door may be helpful for you. This will allow for more control over your firings, and the panel also stores several programs. You may also like to order a furniture kit with your kiln – the Xpress-E-14A kit comes with one 7″ x 7″ square shelf, four 0.5″ posts, and a one-lb. bag of kiln wash.
