The Xpress E-10A comes equipped with Paragon’s Sentinel Touchscreen kiln controller, which is packed with features. It includes two modes: Single Speed and 8-segment Ramp-Hold. With just three simple keys, you will be amazed at how much control you have over this kiln. This kiln controller is mounted onto the kiln’s base, as opposed to being mounted on a side switch box, to save table space in your studio or classroom. The digital Xpress-E-10A fires to 2000F (1093C), or Cone 03, which comes with a NEMA 5-15P (120-volt) plug.
The Xpress-E-10A heating element, which is exposed in recessed and insulated firebrick grooves, is easy to replace if necessary. The 2.5″ thick firebricks store plenty of heat for slow cooling through the glass annealing range. For small glass pieces (such as jewelry), you can anneal without having to turn the element back on during cooling. If extra heat is necessary for annealing larger pieces, that’s easy, too – just program a slow cooling segment in Ramp-Hold mode. The kiln’s thermocouple is protected with a high nickel-stainless steel sheath for a long life. No extra stand is needed for this kiln – the built-in base stays cool, even during extended time holds.
