The Standard 112 Speckled Brown Clay is a plastic clay for wheel throwing and modeling. Manganese gives off speckling surface. The ideal temperature for the best color tone results is cone 5. This clay can deliver good results in both oxidation and reduction. Image shows clay in Cone 6 oxidation. Please note that these speckles will show through many glazes, which creates a very pleasant and variegated effect.
Shrinkage: 12% at C/4, 12.5% at C/6.
Absorption: 4.5% at C/4, 2.5% at C/6.
